Will I be able to use my Ring Doorbell with Connect Fibre?

A short guide on switching your Ring Doorbell

Struggling to connect your Ring Doorbell? Or keeping it connected?

We understand how important Ring Doorbells can be for the security of your home and your peace of mind! It is true that Ring Doorbells primarily connect* to 2.4Ghz broadband bands, but the lucky thing is that our router will choose the correct band for the device you are trying to connect to it.

This means you do not need to split the bands to force it to connect to the right band, because your router will do that for you! (In fact, splitting the bands can cause more issues than solve them!)

If your Ring Doorbell is struggling to maintain a connection or to connect at all, we have a couple of simple steps that we can suggest to help resolve this.

Troubleshooting

Firstly please make sure your service with your old broadband provider has been turned off as this may be confusing your Ring Doorbell!
  • A lot of issues with interference can be resolved with the Channel Finder tool on the Linksys App, please use this tool before going any further.
  • Once you've run the Channel Finder monitor this for 24/48 hours.
  • If you are still having problems, please factory reset your Ring doorbell.
  • You can find out how to do this directly through the manufacturer's website* here: How to completely reset your Ring Video Doorbell.
  • Factory resetting will erase all of the settings saved on your Ring Doorbell, so you will need to set it up again once it has finished.
  • When setting it up again, there will be no saved hidden settings in the background and you should have a stable experience connecting to your Connect Fibre Wi-fi.
  • If you are still having persistent issues after this, and the device can't see your wi-fi network, you may require a Mesh Node. Or if you have one we'd encourage you to move your Child Node to a different spot which your Ring Doorbell can connect to.

If you're still struggling after trying all of the steps in this guide, please seek out further advise from the manufacturer. As it is third party equipment we are unable to advise with further troubleshooting.
