Each customer router is assigned an WAN/Router IP -Sometimes we need to check this to see if the customer is on CGNAT, Public or a Static IP. Additionally, we can determine which data centre they are connected too i.e LD7 or THS
How to check what IP is assigned to the router?
- On the customer device, go to whatismyipaddress.com or whatismyip.com.
- Ask the customer to tell you their IPv4 address or request a screenshot.
- Cross-reference the IPv4 address with the tables below ⬇️
- Determine if the customer is on CGNAT, Public, or Static IP and identify their data center (THS or LD7)
