Management Accountant

Location: Remote with occasional travel to London

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing key accounting processes, and providing critical insights into financial performance. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full balance sheet reconciliations. 
  • Act as the audit point of contact, supporting external and internal audit processes. 
  • Manage accruals, including processing and collecting data from the company. 
  • Oversee month-end Sage management to ensure timely and accurate reporting. 
  • Handle lease accounting and manage associated records. 
  • Conduct monthly reviews of key metrics such as COS, EBITDA, and other financial KPIs. 
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations. 
  • Maintain regulatory compliance across all accounting activities. 
  • Oversee prepayments and ensure accurate postings. 
  • Manage asset accounting, including reconciliation and depreciation schedules. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of data within the P&L, ensuring accuracy and consistency. 
  • Perform in-depth line analysis of P&L accounts on a monthly basis. 
  • Conduct balance sheet and P&L analysis, including identifying key drivers and trends. 
  • Generate and present monthly financial reports to management. 
  • Identify and lead business process improvements to drive operational efficiency.
  •  Supervise and mentor junior team members. 

The Candidate

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA). 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis. 
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems. 
  • A minimum two years’ experience in a modern accounting function within the telecoms/ broadband/ SasS/ Technology or Media sectors. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
